Celebrating Zionism on Campus

My name is Edaan Goldstein, I am the Northwest Regional Director of the Maccabee Task Force.

My career with The Maccabee Task Force started in 2018; I have worked with thousands of students from coast to coast. It is my privilege to work with our national and international partners to help support each of these modern-day Maccabees. Together, we work to accomplish focused and strategic Zionist programming across campuses worldwide.

During celebrations of Israel’s 74th Independence Day, pro-Israel students across America celebrated their Zionism in bold ways. One example is Amir Grunhaus, the President of TIKVAH: The Zionist Voice on Campus at UC Berkeley.

On his campus, “Bears for Palestine” hosted a vile “Israel Apartheid Week” a few weeks ago to spread lies and hatred for Israel on campus. In response, Amir organized a counterdemonstration event for Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. He reached hundreds of students from all walks of life, sharing with them the stories of fallen Israeli soldiers and innocent civilians murdered by Palestinian terror. Student passersby were able to engage in conversation about the realities Israelis face, and light a candle to honor their memories. Amir shared “it is thanks to MTF that we are able to organize these types of events, to promote Zionism, to stand up for Israel, and to be proud of being Jewish and Zionist students.”

Watch the video below to hear more from Amir, he’s so grateful to have your support as a member of the Maccabee Task Force, and so am I.

I joined The Maccabee Task Force because of our dedication to combating anti-Israel hate on college campuses. Our mission of advocating for Israel and educating students is a focused, impactful effort. It is our belief that the fate of Israel is our fate, our shared responsibility. That is Zionism. That is MTF. Thank you for being a part of this mission!
